"From here you can see the whole world!" said the six-year-old to her grandmother. She meant the wonderful "all-round view" in every direction - here on the Nebelstein. On nice days you can also see the Ötscher. The ÖAV's managed refuge (open from April to October) is located at the foot of the rock and is easily reached from the car park in a 15-minute walk. The Nebelstein, at 1,017 m above sea level, is a popular meeting place for hikers. Many long-distance hiking trails, but also some well-signposted hiking trails from the municipality of Moorbad Harbach meet here. The "Nebelstein Adventure Trail" with its interesting adventure stations is particularly popular with families.

    Coming from Weitra, drive to the municipality of Moorbad Harbach. Then to the town of Hirschenwies. The access to Nebelstein is very well signposted. The adventure hiking trail starts in Hirschenwies at the Xundwärts-Parcours Hirschenwies. This is also worth a visit.

    Overall impression

    Nebelstein, der Hausberg von Moorbad Harbach

    Besonders in der warmen Jahreszeit ist der Nebelstein ein Fixpunkt in meinem Bewegungsprogramm. Da ich in der Gegend wohne, erreiche ich den Gipfel nach einer Wanderung von ca. 1,5 Stunden, von meiner Haustür weg. Und obwohl ich schon so oft hier war, bin ich immer wieder begeistert. Die beruhigende Natur mit Vogelgezwitscher und das Blätterrauschen auf dem Weg, manchmal - von Weitem - sehe ich Rehe äsen. Und dann, oben am Gipfel, die wunderbare Aussicht und zum Abschluss die Einkehr bei der netten Hüttenwirtin. Auswärtigen Besuchern empfehle ich den Nebelstein-Erlebnisweg mit seinen vielen Erlebnisstationen wie Steinplatz, Grenzblick oder Holzwerkstatt. Auf diesem Wanderweg ist neben dem Naturerlebnis auch der Spielfaktor gesichert. Der beste Einstieg in diesen Themenweg ist beim "Xundwärts-Parcours Hirschenwies", der natürlich auch einen Besuch wert ist.
