Description Destination

The three-and-a-half hectare red deer enclosure corresponds to the natural habitat of the largest wild species in our country. Up to twelve animals find enough space, food and exercise here. The annual offspring of three to four calves is a very special highlight, especially for children. You can visit the game enclosure at any time of year!

Information boards
Detailed information about the red deer family can be found on the two display boards by the feeding hut. The antler development of a Hirsau deer is clearly documented in a series of pictures taken every 30 days.

Daily feeding
Daily feeding takes place between 1:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m.
Chestnuts or acorns freshly collected in autumn are a treat for the red deer.
They can be placed in the container in front of the feeding house.
A natural water source provides the animals with sufficient water.

    The game reserve is located on the site between the Dr. Römer clinic and the AST factory in Hirsau.
    The car park opposite the tax office is above the reserve.

    • A8 motorway from Karlsruhe:
    Exit Pforzheim-West (approx. 30 km); continue on the B463 towards Calw-Hirsau

    • A8 motorway from Ulm/Stuttgart:
    Exit Leonberg (approx. 25 km), continue on the B295 towards Weil der Stadt to
    Calw-Hirsau

    • A81 motorway from the south/Lake Constance:
    Exit Gärtringen-Stadtmitte (approx. 20 km), continue on the K 1075; near Deckenpfronn
    take the first exit at the roundabout and continue on the B 296 towards Calw. Continue on the B463 until you reach Calw-Hirsau.
