Susanne: My name is Susanne Kaiser and I live with my husband and my two sons in the far north of Upper Austria, more precisely in St. Stefan-Afiesl. The family also includes the turtles Buzzy and Lightning and our corn snake Henry.

My main job is as a radiology technologist in a hospital in Linz and I also write children's hiking books.

We just love being outdoors and are always looking for new adventures. My biggest hobbies are photography and hiking. Both can be perfectly combined for our hiking books. I also do a lot of sport. In the summer, in addition to hiking, I go mountain biking and swimming, and in the winter I go skiing and cross-country skiing. Playing the piano is also a great passion of mine.

familienausflug.info: How long has your profile/blog been around and how did you come up with the idea of ​​starting the whole thing?

Susanne: Our profile has been around since 2020 and I have been working for Wandaverlag since 2019, and as an author since 2020. Wandaverlag itself was founded in 2008 by Elisabeth Göllner-Kampel.

Even before we had children, my husband and I spent every free minute in the mountains. When my children were born, we needed more leisurely tours and I started looking for hikes specifically for children and strollers. But after I didn't really find anything, I decided to write hiking books for children myself and together with Wandaverlag I was able to make it happen. We want to inspire families with our adventure hunt and give tips for exciting, varied outdoor adventures.
