The journey of discovery of the historical castles can continue for a long time. The historical Rheinstein Castle in the Naheland region stands 90 m above the Rhine and impresses not only with its spectacular view but also with restored paintings and stained glass windows from the 14th to 17th centuries.

The Grimburg castle ruins or the castle and witch museum in the Hunsrück region perfectly round off the journey into times long past.

In the Palatinate in the south of the state of Rhineland-Palatinate, you will find Speyer Cathedral, the largest Romanesque church in the world. The cathedral was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1981. Inside the cathedral, the oldest part, the crypt, is particularly worth seeing. It is considered one of the most beautiful in Europe due to its size and the play of colors of the arches. There is also a viewing platform on the southwest tower of the cathedral at a height of around 60m, where visitors can enjoy a unique panoramic view of the city of Speyer and the Vorderpfalz. ⛪
