National Geographic hiking trail - feel the young deity in you

National Geographic hiking trail - feel the young deity in you - familienausflug.info

"Back when we were still without children, we experienced the most breathtaking sunrises on the mountains. During our early morning hikes, we climbed the peaks of the highest mountains full of energy and washed our athletic, dynamic figures - godlike - in the cold mountain waters of our nature."

Yes, we parents all remember it exactly like that - the times when we were free and without any responsibilities.

But when we ask grandma and grandpa to give us a precise account of the situation, the version of the god-like disciples unfortunately becomes that of the sporadic holiday hiking couple who only set off at 10 a.m. on a small circular hiking trail near us. "In the past, the two of them would never have managed to get out of bed anyway, as long as they were out the night before...!"

Thank you (Grandma) for reminding me.

But so that we can still internalize the beautiful feeling of the breathtaking surroundings, we have a great excursion tour ready for you today.

This can give us back (a little) the feeling of freedom.

In the Untertal near Schladming, you can see 14 km of glittering, crystal-clear water in all its facets – right up to the free fall over the rocks 🏔of the Schladminger Tauern⛰.

You really shouldn’t miss this truly unique nature experience, which bears the titles “ National Geographic hiking trail ” and “most beautiful quality seal-certified tour” of the Austrian hiking villages.

You can either walk the trail in several stages or in one go (walking time approx. 6 hours). As you walk, you follow the stream on its adventurous path 🏞 into the valley.

You can feel the power, the vitality, the irrepressible fascination of every single drop💧.

At stage 4 you will find the 50 m long rope bridge "through hell" - but this also requires a little effort from us young, god-like people of all genders from times gone by (forest path available as an alternative).

With the integration of the Rohrmooser Obertal, Wilde Wasser becomes Wilde Wasser². “Hoch zwei” is a symbol for the two Tauern valleys of Untertal and Obertal.

On the other hand, “hoch zwei” communicates the significant expansion of the overall wild water offering that is taking place in the Obertal.

When it comes to the water experience, the Obertal is in no way inferior to the Untertal.

Starting from the Hopfriesen hiking portal, which is in the area around the Nickel Museum, a stroller-friendly, barrier-free circular hiking trail leads gently “back to nature”.

Here at the museum, mining history is presented in a child-friendly way 👧🧒🏻 - and can be tried out for yourself.

The conditions there offer many opportunities for playing and romping around.

The wild water is literally your companion in all senses along the entire route, especially in the Giglach and Obertal streams.

Further examples are the Giglachseen and the picturesque Duisitzkarsee .

Brilliant, right?

We believe that here we can fulfill our longing for freedom and youthfulness from our memories together with our children.

Whether you want to take Grandma 👵🏼 and Grandpa 👴🏻 with you is up to you to decide - it may well be that they too would like to remember themselves as young gods - but don't worry: next to you they will probably only be silver. 😎

Try this excursion tip from us next weekend and let us know if you - like us - have found your way back to the young deity.
