Innsbruck Nordkette Railways Operating GmbH

NORTH CHAIN:
TOP OF INNSBRUCK ⭐

The Innsbruck Nordkette cable cars take you directly from Innsbruck city center to Austria's largest nature park in just a few minutes! The breathtaking 360° view with the capital of the Alps on one side and the Karwendel Nature Park on the other leaves an impression that will last forever.

The round trip to the top of Innsbruck, the 2,334 m high Hafelekar , begins a few minutes from the famous Golden Roof at the " Congress" station. The modern Hungerburgbahn takes you from there to the Hungerburg, with the option of getting off at the Alpine Zoo . From here, a few steps lead across Hermann-Buhl-Platz to the 1,905 m high Seegrube, where daredevil mountaineers are an eye-catcher in both summer and winter.

The highlight of the trip is the impressive natural and panoramic experience at the Top of Innsbruck , the Hafelekar , which is within reach for everyone thanks to the direct connection to the city.

ALPINE ZOO INNSBRUCK

The highest zoo in Europe with around 2000 Alpine animals from 150 species.
As a so-called "theme zoo", it offers the world's largest collection of animals from the Alpine region in natural-looking, partially walk-in enclosures, aquariums and terrariums . Endangered domestic animal breeds are on display at the demonstration farm , and the "bear children's playground" rounds off a successful visit to the Alpine Zoo for our little animal lovers .

With the Alpenzoo combo ticket, the zoo can be easily reached in just a few minutes on the modern Hungerburgbahn directly from Innsbruck city center. There is a separate stop very close to the zoo entrance.

NORDKETTE DISCOVERY TOUR

In Austria's largest nature park - high above Innsbruck in the realm of ibex, ptarmigan and co.

From the Hafelekar mountain station, the first stop is the Hafelekarspitz . From there, you have a spectacular view of the "wild" Karwendel. Numerous animals such as ibexes, chamois and ptarmigan have their home here and with a little luck, you can even observe them.

On the Goetheweg, the perspective changes several times - at one point the view sweeps over the urban Inn Valley in the south , at another it stretches towards the pristine natural landscape of the Karwendel in the north . At the beautifully situated Pfeishütte we can take a leisurely rest before heading back to the Hafelekar.

Duration: approx. 7.5 hours (including refreshment)
Altitude: 688 m
Distance: 11.2 km
Requirements: sure-footedness and moderate fitness
Equipment: normal hiking equipment with trekking or mountain boots
