A nice day trip tip is the state capital Graz . It has a large medieval old town with a southern flair. But the city also offers a lot of modern architecture that is known far beyond Austria's borders.

Southern Styria - the Styrian Tuscany
A third excursion tip in the region for family and friends is Southern Styria . Wine is grown here, there are numerous wine taverns that offer their own products and are located on beautiful hills.
